Welcome to the Friends of Linden Animal Shelter, Inc.'s (FOLAS) Blog.
We are an
all-volunteer non-profit (501C3) animal rescue group which was formed in March of 2000 to fill the need that existed at that time to find lifelong, committed and loving homes for the many
deserving animals that had found their way into Linden Animal Control,
(servicing Linden, Rahway, Roselle and Winfield Park, NJ).
Since that time we have cared for and found adoptive homes for
unwanted pets and unclaimed strays, regardless of the manner they
would arrive into our system. FOLAS has rescued thousands of dogs, cats,
puppies, kittens, rabbits, ferrets, iguanas, snakes and one pig, and have
found homes or placements for hundreds of others.
We promote the spay/neuter of all companion animals
and strive to educate the public on the importance of sterilization. All
animals adopted through Friends of Linden Animal Shelter, Inc. are vetted,
vaccinated and spayed/neutered (if age appropriate).
FOLAS is always in need of support to maintain our adoption facilities and to continue to provide for the pets in our care. We operate strictly by
private donation in the form of monies, food, and supplies. All donations
go wholly and directly to supporting all of the wonderful animals in our
care.
